Brief Context:
We’re here to tell anyone and everyone who can’t see a way out: “Things can change”. To say to them “Just stay”.
Why are we doing this? Because every week in the UK 125 people take their own lives; 125 individuals who couldn’t see a way out.
But at CALM, we believe there is always hope, always a reason for living. That’s why we’ve launched Stay – to show you that things can change, no matter how you feel right now. That there’s always a way forward.
18 people die by suicide every day in the UK. Stand with us and help them Stay.
Today and every day our message remains the same: we want everyone across the UK to know that someone wants them to stay.
So join us and help tell anyone and everyone who can’t see a way out: “Things can change”. To help more people to Stay. More people like Ash who spoke to our helpline in his darkest moments and was able to find hope.
Ash’s Story
During lockdown Ash couldn’t see a way out. He was furloughed, had a new baby to look after but no job. Things got too much. He wanted to end it all, but he turned to CALM and the helpline staff helped him see there was a future.
“I still remember that night like it was yesterday. The day that I thought was going to be the end. When it seemed like there was no way forward. But things did change.
“CALM’s helpline saved my life. They listened without judging me and helped me make a plan for the future.”
