We’ve got a huge brief today on #WorldWildlifeDay to celebrate the globe's wild plant and animal life. We want as many people as possible around the world to be involved in this one!
We are also running the brief in partnership with The Drum, who have created a special award category at The Chip Shop Awards for today’s winner!
Inspired by an incredible idea by Ze Anwar, we are reaching out to creatives around the globe to bring to life the idea of ‘imagine a World without Nature’.
We want the OMBLES to create posters/logos/scribbles/sketches that share how the brands and teams you know and love would appear without nature in them. We want to show them missing animals, flowers, plants and communicate the importance of sustaining all life on earth through positive headlines & impactful copy.
OMB is UK-based but we want people to get creative worldwide and create posters for logos or badges for all sports or sectors in different areas of the world, as well as your own. Think BIG!!
We are working particularly closely with Peru, Colombia, Kenya, Indonesia and India on this one too… so keep that, and a focus on youth, in mind!
We’ve got brilliant prizes to be won and your entries could feature on social channels to millions of followers and also appear in a film we are launching on Biodiversity Day in May.
Prizes:
1 winner who will receive £100 cash. a The Drum Chip Shop Award and a WWF hoodie.
1 runner-up who will win a WWF tee.
Remember to tweet your entries to @OneMinuteBriefs, @TheDrum and @WildlifeDay with the hashtag #WorldWildlifeDay
Please include the call to action below in your tweets (and add your own voice of course):
Join our #WorldWildlifeDay campaign to ‘Imagine a World Without Nature’ & share your voice at https://voicefortheplanet.org/
Please tag the brands/teams that feature in your tweets too & encourage them to pledge to change their social media profile pics on 22nd May and join the movement to ‘Imagine a World without Nature!’
About #WorldWildlifeDay
World Wildlife Day will be celebrated in 2020 under the theme "Sustaining all life on Earth", encompassing all wild animal and plant species as key components of the world's biodiversity.
Earth is home to countless species of fauna and flora – too many to even attempt counting. This rich diversity, and the billions of years during which its myriad elements have interacted, are precisely what has made our planet inhabitable for all living creatures, including humans. Historically, we have depended on the constant interplay and interlinkages between all elements of the biosphere for all our needs: the air we breathe, the food we eat, the energy we use, and the materials we need for all purposes. However, unsustainable human activities and overexploitation of the species and natural resources that make up the habitats and ecosystems of all wildlife are imperiling the world’s biodiversity. Nearly a quarter of all species are presently at risk of going extinct in the coming decades, and their demise would only speed up the disappearance of countless others, putting us in danger as well.
On World Wildlife Day 2020, we will celebrate the special place of wild plants and animals in their many varied and beautiful forms as a component of the world’s biological diversity. We will work to raise awareness of the multitude of benefits of wildlife to people, particularly to those communities who live in closest proximity to it, and we will discuss the threats they are facing and the urgent need for governments, civil society, private sector actors and individuals to add their voices and take actions to help conserve wildlife and ensure its continued use is sustainable.
