We’re sure a lot of you will be familiar with today’s brief!!
Last year, we planned this campaign and had loads of brands on board. Until Coronavirus stopped us in our tracks. But now we’re back!! With one month until World Wildlife Day, we’re hoping ALL the OMBLES will get involved in this one.
For World Wildlife Day this year the Voice for the Planet coalition (which includes WWF, World Economic Forum, UNICEF, Conservation International, Earth Hour, and The Nature Conservancy) are running an activation encouraging companies, NGOs and sports teams to remove nature from their branding for a day. (3rd March 2021) An idea that started life as an OMB from Ze Anwar!
Once again, we’re partnering with The Drum to help engage the industry and they will be featuring some of the best submissions on their site!!
We’ve got huge brands and teams in the Premier League, Football League and Rugby League already signed up and we’re hoping for a huge impact on the day.
So... that’s where we need the OMBLES to help.
We want you to create posters to encourage brands/teams to take the nature out of the logos/brands on their social channels for World Wildlife Day. Let’s imagine a #WorldWithoutNature
We want you to mention/tag them in your tweets to and get them to notice it and hopefully pledge to get involved! We want to show them missing animals, flowers, plants and communicate the importance of sustaining all life on earth through positive headlines & impactful copy.
You can do as many as you can think of. The more the merrier!!
Tweet your entries to @OneMinuteBriefs, @voice4planet and @TheDrum with the hashtag #WorldWithoutNature
You can also mention/tag campaign partners @WWF, @WEF, @BirdLife_News, @ConservationOrg, @Nature_Org and @EarthHour for even wider reach!!
Tag the relevant brands/teams into your tweets and encourage them to get involved this World Wildlife Day!!
Prizes:
Top 3 entries receive official merch from WWF!
Submissions could be shared on the VFTP partner channels to millions of followers!!
Think BIG. Think GLOBAL.
About World Wildlife Day
Last year World Wildlife Day was celebrated under the theme "Sustaining all life on Earth", encompassing all wild animal and plant species as key components of the world's biodiversity.
Earth is home to countless species of fauna and flora – too many to even attempt counting. This rich diversity, and the billions of years during which its myriad elements have interacted, are precisely what has made our planet inhabitable for all living creatures, including humans. Historically, we have depended on the constant interplay and interlinkages between all elements of the biosphere for all our needs: the air we breathe, the food we eat, the energy we use, and the materials we need for all purposes. However, unsustainable human activities and overexploitation of the species and natural resources that make up the habitats and ecosystems of all wildlife are imperiling the world’s biodiversity. Nearly a quarter of all species are presently at risk of going extinct in the coming decades, and their demise would only speed up the disappearance of countless others, putting us in danger as well.
On World Wildlife Day 2021, we will celebrate the special place of wild plants and animals in their many varied and beautiful forms as a component of the world’s biological diversity. We will work to raise awareness of the multitude of benefits of wildlife to people, particularly to those communities who live in closest proximity to it, and we will discuss the threats they are facing and the urgent need for governments, civil society, private sector actors and individuals to add their voices and take actions to help conserve wildlife and ensure its continued use is sustainable.
