One Minute Brief of the Day: Campaign to celebrate #JIFLemonDay with @JIFLemonJuice

To celebrate Pancake Day, we’ve got an extra special brief with none other than JIF Lemon Juice. You can also win a lifetime’s supply of JIF! What’s not to love?!

jif logo[2].jpg

Remember to tweet your entries to @OneMinuteBriefs and @JIFLemonJuice with the hashtags #JIFLemonDay and #PancakeDay

About:

You must be flippin’ mad we said… there’s only 6 days before Pancake Eve we said…

That was our reaction to the last-minute request to start a branded Twitter channel for everyone’s favourite (and arguably only UK based) lemon juice brand, JIF.

Ever since, ahead of JIF’s ‘big day’ we’ve been looking to mix up a recipe for creating social mischief. We’ve followed only those called Lemon (we see you Keith) to spoofing Burger King’s recent ‘artificial ad’ to almost awarding Piers Morgan and Kate Hopkins ‘Britain’s Biggest Tossers’ – we realised that was a bit too far.

Everything is about creating as much noise around the 24 hours of pancake day or #JifLemonDay (as we liked to call it) as possible.

Now we want the OMBLES to join in and get creative to stir up some fun and good will around Jif and pancakes on this very special day.

The winning design/s will encapsulate our meta / knowing / comedic tone of voice and distinctive style – leaving them crying (with laughter) into their pile of piping hot pancakes.

One Minute Brief of the Day: Create posters that show what #GetsOnYourNerves whilst sharing an important #MSUncovered message for @MSTrust

Today we are pleased to share a film we have been working on with the MS Trust in support of their #MSUncovered campaign. An idea that came out of an OMB campaign we ran three years ago has now been brought to life in partnership with COUCH Health and The Gate Films. Filmed and edited by Olivier Richomme and co-directed by Nick Entwistle & James Clancy.

The idea is simple. We asked people what gets on their nerves… and below are the responses.

(Make sure you watch til the end)

Screen Shot 2020-02-23 at 23.28.17.png

We are looking for your fun scribbles, notes, designs, GIFs, posters and more to share some of the everyday things that get on your nerves and how they pale into insignificance to what people with MS have to deal with every day. We want to hear about your traffic problems, pet peeves, carpet spillages and whatever else #GetsOnYourNerves whilst delivering a serious underlying message

Remember to tweet your entries to @OneMinuteBriefs @MSTrust and @COUCHhealth_co with the hashtags #GetsOnYourNerves and #MSUncovered

About MS:

130,000 people in the UK are living with multiple sclerosis.  That’s around 1 in every 500 people. Every week, around 130 new people are diagnosed.

Multiple Sclerosis is a condition that affects the nerves in the brain and spinal cord. It is a lifelong condition, usually diagnosed in people in their 20s and 30s, and can cause a wide variety of symptoms, including eyesight problems, fatigue, balance problems, altered sensations and cognitive issues. There is a wide range of disease modifying therapies, but there is currently no cure.

Most people have heard of MS, but many don’t realise how it can affect you and what it’s like to live with it day to day. We want to change that. This week (February 24-March 1), we are launching our #MSUncovered campaign to sort the facts from the myths, to show the different faces of MS and raise understanding, now and in the future.

Together, we can help uncover the truth about MS.

One Minute Brief of the Day: Create posters to promote #PaperStraws with @IntrinsicPaper

Today we’ve got a great brief with the guys at Intrinsic Paper to promote the use of a product that is extremely important in protecting our environment. We are looking forward to seeing the amazing creativity that the OMBLES come up with for this and there is a great prize on offer to the winner.

Remember to tweet your entries to @OneMinuteBriefs & @IntrinsicPaper with the hashtag #PaperStraws

Intrinsic_Paper_Straws.png

The brief…

Campaign to spread the word that the paper straws are a sustainable, eco-friendly alternative to single-use plastic straws, which are due to be banned in the UK from April 2020.

About Intrinsic Paper Straws

Intrinsic are a UK manufacturer and supplier of high quality paper straws. Our journey into paper straws was very much influenced by the documentary ‘Blue Planet II’ which was broadcast in 2018. To see the damaging impact that plastic waste (especially plastic straws) is having on our oceans and wildlife is quite heart-breaking viewing. To help with the global initiative to reduce plastic pollution, Intrinsic has been setup to focus on developing plastic alternatives starting with paper straws.

We believe paper straws are a sustainable, eco-friendly alternative to plastic straws. The paper straws we provide are made from sustainably sourced papers which are biodegradable, and only contain inks and adhesives that are both food safe and environmentally friendly. Also, our straws have been designed to deliver outstanding durability during use, so consumers can enjoy that all important beverage without worrying about issues such as sogginess.

However, there is a perception with paper that it has a negative impact on the environment, but in truth it is a sustainable product. Paper is based on wood, a natural and renewable material. As trees grow they absorb CO2 from the atmosphere. Furthermore, as a wood product, paper also continues to store carbon throughout its lifetime.

One Minute Brief of the Day: Create a campaign to promote the launch of #Space1999 - a reimagining of the 1970s Gerry Anderson TV series as a @BigFinish audio drama.

We’re excited to be running another amazing brief with Big Finish today with great prizes to be won. With such an exciting subject we cannot wait to see what the OMBLES come up with!

Tweet entries to @OneMinuteBriefs and @BigFinish using the hashtag #Space1999.

You might want to share with some of the cast and crew: @mark_bonnar, @mtcreasey, @timbentinck, @ImJamieAnderson, @GerryAndersonTV, @BriggsNicholas, @RichardsonBF, @julesvoices, @MccreadyGlen, @SusanMHingley, @sallyamaka,

Screen Shot 2019-09-12 at 13.04.28.png

Prizes:

5 winners will receive:

A copy of Space: 1999 - Breakaway! This 3 CD box set audio drama stars Mark Bonnar (Line of Duty, Catastrophe, Guilt) as Commander John Koenig. The release date of 13 September 2019 has been chosen because it is 20 years to the day after the Moon was blown out of Earth’s orbit (according to the original series’ opening titles)! This feature-length first story is split over two CDs, with a further hour of behind-the-scenes interviews and extras on a bonus disc.

About Space: 1999

Space: 1999 was originally an international TV production, debuting in September 1975. It was lavish, it was expensive, it was thrilling, and it was packed with stunning effects and exotic alien worlds. It told the story of the inhabitants of Moonbase Alpha, forced to journey into the unknown when a freak nuclear accident blasts the Moon out of Earth’s orbit and into deep space.

Now the much-loved series is back. This brand-new audio drama combines re-imagined versions of classic episodes together with all-new scripts. Joining Mark Bonnar is Maria Teresa Creasey as Dr Helena Russell, with additional cast members Glen McCready (Commander Gorsky/Paul Morrow/Alan Carter), Clive Hayward (Professor Victor Bergman), Susan Hingley (Sandra Benes/Alpha Computer/Sian Springer), Timothy Bentinck (Commissioner Simmons), Amaka Okafor (Dashka Kano) and Jules de Jongh (Petra Nordstrom).

What we are looking for

Celebrate the launch of the new audio drama series, and the commemoration of "Breakaway Day" (the 13 September 1999 anniversary celebrated by Gerry Anderson fans around the globe), in a way which will convince new audiences to download and listen to this blockbuster sci-fi audio drama.

We are keen to see ideas illustrated for print, outdoor or even, experiential.

The sky's the limit! (But remember: the Moon has gone!)

Key facts

Space: 1999 is only available on CD or download from www.bigfinish.com - it is not listed on podcast, audiobook or streaming platforms.

Running time: 180 minutes.

Age: 8+.

Space: 1999 was a British and Italian science-fiction TV show which aired on ITV and ran from 1975-1977. It was the last production from prolific producers Gerry and Sylvia Anderson.

The original TV series starred Martin Landau and Barbara Bain.

This thrilling feature-length audio movie is an enhanced re-telling of the TV show’s very first episode. It follows the assignment of John Koenig (Mark Bonnar) to Moonbase Alpha, where Dr Helena Russell (Maria Teresa Creasey) is investigating the outbreak of a deadly illness among the crew, while Professor Victor Bergman (Clive Hayward) discovers that a signal from the distant planet of Meta could herald disaster for humanity.

About Big Finish

For more than 20 years, Big Finish has been producing high-quality, innovative and award-winning audio dramas. There are now literally hundreds of releases to choose from, with new titles added to our catalogue every month. The majority of Big Finish releases are based on TV series, including genre favourites like Doctor Who, Torchwood, Blake's 7, Survivors, Dark Shadows, The Prisoner, Adam Adamant Lives! and The Avengers.

Our stories feature familiar and much-loved characters in all-new audio adventures, and many of the actors who appeared in the original shows have returned to recreate their roles for us. The majority of our productions are either full-cast dramas or dramatic readings using just one or two voices, and feature dynamic sound design and original music.

About the campaign:

On June 14th, Donald Trump’s own Birthday will be turned into a day of eco-action against his climate policies with a mass protest-switch to green energy. We’re asking for everyone to help him get the message by signing an ‘EarthDay’ card that we will be sending direct to the White House. Check out the film we made with GAS Music below, featuring Ronald Dump performing a parody of ‘Happy Birthday’ by Stevie Wonder. Please give the film and website a share to help spread this important message far and wide.

The Background

Donald Trump’s policies on climate change have dismayed people around the world as we all begin to understand the extent of the danger we face if we don’t act quickly to reduce carbon emissions. While much of the rest of the world has been making progress:

  • Trump has called climate change a hoax

  • He has pulled out of the Paris Climate Agreement

  • He cut funding for renewable energy by 72% last year

  • He has put great efforts to reviving what he calls “clean coal”

The Idea

The brainchild of green-business leader, Tara Button, she explains that “Trump is stealing the Earth’s future, so we’re going to steal his birthday and give it to the planet. On the 14th of June, we are calling on the world to take action into their own hands and pledge to switch to renewable energy.”

Button has brought together a coalition of green activists and legends of the creative industry to turn a day which should be all about Trump, to be all about what we can do to fight his agenda in a real and practical way.

The Website and Earthday Card

The public will be directed to TrumpsEarthday.Com where they get to sign Trump’s Earthday card to send him a message and at the same time pledge to switch to green energy. If someone already has green energy then they pledge to get a friend to switch. A giant card will then get delivered to the White House to make sure Trump gets the message

The website also has resources to help people switch. NB Trump’s Earthday is not affiliated with any green energy companies and receives no financial benefit from any green-energy choices the public make.

The Music Video

A parody of Stevie Wonder’s beloved “Happy Birthday” song has been rewritten for the occasion by Tara Button and performed by parady singer “Ronald Dump”. Produced by coalition partners, Bank of Creativity and Gas Music.

Why is this day about switching to green energy?

The team wanted to do more than march. They want to ignite something that directly undermines Trumps damaging policies and will have a lasting impact.

  1. Dirty energy use is the biggest cause of climate change, so a mass switch to green energy will have an extreme and lasting impact.

  2. People voting with their wallets is much more effective than petitions - it drives change faster.

  3. Many people who care about the environment haven’t switched yet.

  4. It’s much quicker and easier to do than people imagine

  5. Trump can’t stop us from doing it

  6. It’s a practical way to undermine Trump’s dirty-energy doners.

This International Day for Biodiversity we’re asking people to #Connect2Earth by creating a poster that creatively uses the wifi logo to show us:

  • How diverse the environment/natural world around you is

  • What you love about nature

  • Your favourite species and habitats

  • How you benefit from everything nature has to provide or

  • How you connect with the birds, the bees and anything wild that you please.

Prizes:

While doing it for mother nature is reward in itself, we will also pick:

1 winner who will win £200 cash and WWF merchandise

1 runner-up who will win WWF merchandise from our https://wwf.teemill.com/

Let’s fill those timelines with how beautiful this one planet we call home is.

Prize: Agency or freelancer studio time or services to the value of £1000 at GAS Music.

Brief:

Every event in our lives (good, bad and the ugly) - from social gatherings, school, holidays and travel right through to purchasing decisions and lifestyles, has a soundtrack!

So, how do you advertise the power of sound, audio, music on the moving image with GAS Music.

Don't judge a book by the cover, but do judge a person/brand on their record collection / choice of music!

An example of how important music and sound is to film is the brilliant GAS parody of the Elton John John Lewis advert below.

About GAS Music:

We love music, we're efficient, flexible, cost effective - producing bespoke and production / library music for TV, film, advertising, gaming and B2B our musical arrangements covering full orchestral to sound design. With the added benefit of a record label we're also a functioning studio so we can mix and master (on-line, tv ) and set and certificate to broadcast levels (R128), Voice Overs, ADR, dubbing, foley - we can compose to edit and also edit picture which helps demos, supply chain and saves time and money.

One Minute Brief of the Day: Create Tribute Posters #InMemoryOfIsabella @LyttleFight

We are very sad to be running today’s brief but feel that, together, we can create a beautiful tribute to someone who has inspired many of us as we followed her story.

We received the sad news last week that Isabella Lyttle has passed away on Sunday 28th April. Having got to know Isabella and her family, we were of course very upset and we want to do something to celebrate what a fighter she was and how she has been so inspirational to us all.

That’s why we want the OMBLES to create positive tribute posters to Isabella. These could feature at an event in her memory in the future.

We’d like you to tweet your posters to @OneMinuteBriefs and @LyttleFight with the hashtag #InMemoryOfIsabella

We first heard of Isabella’s story when Louise Chorley got in touch for us to run a One Minute Brief to raise awareness and donations. With over £100k to raise it was going to be difficult but we did what we could. Together with the family, we developed a script for a film based on one of the ideas by @ZedTrafficker that at only 10 years old, Isabella shouldn’t know the ‘C’ word. A film was then made and edited by Trunk and sent out via the charity Facebook feed. Within hours it had 1 million views and hit 10 million views on Unilad, as well as featuring on The Hook, Daily Mirror, Daily Mail and BBC National News. We ran further One Minute Briefs campaigns and asked for people to send in their own videos to ‘the C-word’ and nominate others to do the same. This helped make the campaign go even more viral and has helped the family to raise more than £100,000 towards getting Isabella the life-saving treatment in America she needed.

Unfortunately, despite having the funds to do so, Isabella never became well enough to be able to receive the treatment as here health deteriorated. The family received the bad news that the cancer had spread and they were told to go and make some memories. They headed straight to Disneyland Paris for an amazing trip but upon their return Isabella’s health took a turn for the worse and she passed away peacefully on Sunday 28th April.

I was very sad to hear the news. Isabella was inspirational to myself and lots of our followers. When directing the film, I had to make her shout the word ‘Cancer’ over and over, which is difficult enough itself but her performance was unlike anything I have ever seen. She was battling to save her own life and I will never forget the moment of the final scene in the film which was so real and powerful. I am proud to have seen how the OMB community tried to help Isabella and she has touched all of our hearts.
