Mattr is a new dating app designed to revolutionise the online dating world. Our mission is to empower individuals to be their true authentic selves online without fear of judgment caused by the pressures to conform to unrealistic social standards. Online dating should be safe, honest, inclusive, non-discriminatory and most importantly enjoyable.

Mattr exists to change the narrative on dating apps. We are as frustrated as you with what's out there, ghosting, poor profile suggestions, always being asked to pay for every new feature the list goes on...

We are different because we promote transparency and celebrate your uniqueness. We don't want to manipulate your profile through our algorithm because you know, not us who is a good fit for you. We are unapologetically inclusive, supporting neurodiverse individuals who have been ignored by developers for so long.

The more people we talk to the same response we get … ' I can't believe this app doesn't exist already.’ Now it does, because #youMattr. Why conform when you can be you? You spoke, we listened. You Mattr.

Find out more and be the first to get the app when it launches here: https://www.mattr.social/

A message from our founder

Like many of us during the pandemic, I had a lot of time to think. This slowed-down life and with no stimulation was torture. I had to speak to someone and I was diagnosed with ADHD, something I have suspected for a very long time.

I was determined to live my life afterwards without shame for who I was. This was possible everywhere other than on dating apps. The more I researched this industry the more I uncovered. Points-based systems on profiles, racially discriminatory algorithms and techniques used by gambling companies to create addiction. This can't be right when dating is not a game. Your and others' emotions and well-being are not casino chips.

Mattr will change this.

We will create a product which is an inclusive environment for you to be yourselves, without us meddling with the software because we think we know best, as we certainly don't.

Join us today, because #youMattr.

One Minute Brief of the Day: Create posters to promote the upcoming @WWF #WorldWithoutNature activation and encourage brands & teams around the world to take part on #WorldWildlifeDay

The WWF #WorldWithoutNature campaign has had 900 MILLION impressions over the last couple of years and we’ve teamed up with WWF once again to bring the campaign back for a third year. We’ve had brands and teams pledging to get involved already on March 3rd for World Wildlife Day.

  • 2022 RECAP:

On March 3 2022, over 330 Sports Teams, Brands, NGOs and Government bodies removed nature-related imagery from their logos on social media for the day, raising awareness and media interest in the topic of nature loss.

We hope to go even bigger and better this year with the help of the OMBLES. So for this brief, we want to go BIG and think… what’s the best that could happen?

One Minute Brief of the Day:

Create posters to promote the upcoming @WWF #WorldWithoutNature activation and encourage brands & teams around the world to take part on #WorldWildlifeDay on 3rd March.

Today’s campaign is all about creating eye-catching headlines and impactful messages that encourage organisations to get involved to Imagine a #WorldWithoutNature by removing all traces of the nature in the brands for just one day. How can we grab their attention and persuade them to take action in a small way to create a huge collective impact & get the world in conversation about conservation on World Wildlife Day.

With the likes of Wolves, Aston Villa, West Brom, Huddersfield Town and Hull City already pledging to take part, this promises to be the biggest campaign yet. We’ve had 900 MILLION impressions with the campaign on social media over the past two years and we look forward to the OMBLES helping to take that way over a BILLION!!

Tweet your entries to @OneMinuteBriefs, @WWF & @WWF_UK with the hashtag #WorldWithoutNature

  • Please tag in as many brands and teams you can think of within your tweets too with a message to encourage them to get involved too!!

  • Remember your Twitter handle in the bottom right-hand corner of your entries. Deadline 6pm GMT.

Prizes:

WINNER receives £250 cash!!

About:

For World Wildlife Day (3 March 2023), WWF is running a global activation encouraging companies, NGOs, sports teams and governments to remove nature from their branding to mark the day. This day of action aims to highlight the dramatic loss of biodiversity – the variety of all life on Earth – and the social and economical risks that it poses.

Over the last two years, over 400 brands from across the world have taken part in the World Without Nature activation on World Wildlife Day, generating over 900 million impressions online and in the media!

Why?

Because the science has never been clearer: the #LivingPlanetReport 2022 revealed that species populations have declined by 69% since 1970. This simple and effective social activation highlights the immediate dual crises of climate change and biodiversity loss, and depicts what a nature-less world would look like through the medium of iconic logos.

To find out more and show your support this World Wildlife Day, register here 👉 https://lnkd.in/dYtNYRGi

We’d be grateful for any introductions to brands via email or to find out how you can get involved yourself to interest@bankofcreativity.co.uk

About The Vapiano Paddington Launch

Vapiano have launched their new London site, right next to Paddington train station! With the help of the new Elizabeth line, Vaps is closer than ever to many doorsteps.

This Vapiano showcases their design evolution with new brand graphics while keeping the much-loved sharing tables and open kitchen, where the chefs make handmade fresh pasta and pizza to order, exactly as you like it. In short, it’s an even cosier feel than what Vaps lovers are used to. Favourite pasta dishes are on the menu such as the most popular Gamberetti E Spinaci with King Prawns, or creamy Chicken Alfredo. Pizza lovers equally have plenty to choose from, with options such as a classic Diavolo with our refreshed sour dough base, or a hearty Calzone with mushrooms, prosciutto and mozzarella. As all Vaps fans will know, perhaps the most treasured part of the Vapiano dining experience is the direct access (and encouragement!) to customising each and every single part of your dish, from the fresh egg-free pasta shape of your choice, down to the swapping or adding ingredients until your heart’s content. This is where your creativity comes to light, whilst you watch the chefs get down to magic in our open-plan kitchen!

Meet Vapiano

The way you can personalise your meal,  handmade fresh pasta, pizza, sauces, dressings and dolci, the spacious, beautiful restaurant design, the fact you sit where you like and stay as long as you want, all create the laid back vibes we’re known and loved for, and what makes Vapiano one of  *the* places to go.

OUR STORY

The word Vapiano doesn’t actually exist. We created it from an old Italian proverb – “Chi va piano, va sano e va lontano”:  which, when translated means  “If you have an easy-going and relaxed approach to life, you’ll live healthily and longer”.

And this is how we want our teams and our guests to feel. Relaxed. You may be busy, but take a moment to relax and enjoy what makes you happy.

Pasta is at the heart of what we do.
A choice of shapes from fusilli to campanelle to linguine and tagliatelle are made fresh using the finest durum wheat semolina  in each restaurant every single day.
We also specialise in quality Pizzas (or in Germany, we have introduced the ancient recipe Pinsa), Antipasti, exceptional salads and homemade dolci.

One Minute Brief of the Day: Create posters to raise awareness of WWF’s tiger conservation efforts and encourage tiger adoptions before the Year of the Tiger is over @wwf_uk

Grrrrrrrrrrreat news OMBLES, WWF are back with us for yet another tigerrific brief!!

So get on your tiger feet and prepare for a neat brief to kick the week off!

The Lunar Year of the Tiger is drawing to a close (Sat 21 st Jan) and we’re calling on the OMBLES to help us do a last push to encourage tiger adoptions and raise awareness of the challenges faced by these beautiful animals and how to help them.

One Minute Brief of the Day:

Create posters to raise awareness of WWF’s tiger conservation efforts and encourage tiger adoptions before the Year of the Tiger is over @wwf_uk

Prizes:

WINNER - 1-year free tiger adoption + your work could be featured on billboards in the UK!!

Please tweet your entries to @OneMinuteBriefs, @WWF and @wwf_uk with the hashtag #YearOfTheTiger

Deadline 6pm GMT. Remember to include your Twitter handle in the bottom right-hand corner of your entries.

About tigers/the Lunar Year of the Tiger

Over the last century, global wild tiger populations have plummeted, from around 100,000 tigers at the beginning of the 20th century, to as few as 3,200 in 2010. They face threats from poaching, conflict with people, habitat loss and fragmentation, and climate change.

However, the tiger range countries came together in 2010 and committed to doubling their population by 2022, the next lunar Year of the Tiger. As the Year of the Tiger draws to a close, we’ve seen evidence that a centuries-long trend of wild tiger decline has finally been reversed. It’s a very rare glimmer of hope for nature, that one of the world’s most ambitious conservation goals has started to reverse decades of decline.

But progress is fragile. While global tiger numbers may be on the rise, they are still the most endangered big cat species, and tigers today are restricted to around 5% of their historic range. Without continued conservation efforts, we could see tigers disappear from some countries in the next decade.

So, we’re looking for the OMBLES to help us spread the word ahead of the end of the Year of the Tiger this Saturday. By adopting a tiger, you can help fund projects that work with local communities to monitor tiger movements and realise benefits from living in close proximity to tigers, as well as to reduce poaching, secure well-managed protected areas and restore fragmented areas of habitat so tiger populations can grow.

About WWF UK

WWF is the world’s leading independent conservation organisation. Our mission is to create a world where people and wildlife can thrive together.

To achieve our mission, we’re finding ways to help transform the future for the world’s wildlife, rivers, forests and seas; pushing for a reduction in carbon emissions that will avoid catastrophic climate change; and pressing for measures to help people live sustainably, within the means of our one planet.

One Minute Brief of the Day: Create posters to encourage people to support and donate to @SolarAid by showing that small solar lights can create #BrighterFutures

One Minute Brief of the Day:

Create posters to encourage people to support and donate to @SolarAid by showing that small solar lights can create #BrighterFutures for both people & the planet.

Enter as many times as you like. Deadline 6pm GMT.

Just make sure you tweet to @OneMinuteBriefs and @SolarAid with the hashtag #BrighterFutures & include a link to https://solar-aid.org/brighter-futures-appeal/

Prizes:

  1. £100 Amazon Vouchers & a gifted solar light

  2. £50 Amazon Vouchers & a gifted solar light

  3. £25 Amazon Vouchers & a gifted solar light

About the campaign:

Sunshine is in abundance in Africa, but when the sun goes down the working day ends for millions of people. For millions of others, the only option is to ignite kerosene lamps and paraffin candles, which emit toxic fumes into their lungs and the earth’s atmosphere.

Yet, with the power of solar and the flick of a switch, you can change the story. When you help get one of our portable solar lights into the hands of a farmer, it means they can sort through their soya beans even after the sun sets. For a child, it means they can get ahead in school because they can actually do their homework in the evening. And for a midwife, it means she can deliver babies safely through the night. Solar lights transform lives at the flick of a switch and create a brighter future for people like John January and his family.- watch his story below.

We’ve just launched our #BrighterFutures appeal, raising money to get solar lights to as many people as possible. But we need to tell more people about the transformative power of solar lights to garner support for the appeal and secure donations from the public. That’s where the OMBLES come in.

Will you help us create a brighter future by spreading the word?

Spread the word:

All donations to the Brighter Futures appeal will be matched, meaning that your support will have double the impact! We can’t wait to see the creative ways you will show the life-changing impact of solar lights. They don’t just light up the darkness but also mean that people don’t have to rely on dirty & dangerous fuels – it’s a win-win for people & the planet!

About SolarAid:

SolarAid cares deeply about both people and the planet. And we believe in creating long-term, sustainable change in the rural communities we work with. Our social enterprise model means we’re creating local demand for solar energy markets, meaning our solar lights can reach people no one else is reaching. This approach helps instil trust in new solar technologies, maintain consumer rights and develop a lasting sustainable energy legacy.

We work closely with community leaders to find ways to make solar energy available and affordable for everyone. From our Light Libraries programme in schools to our Mayi Walas project supporting female solar entrepreneurs, our e-waste programme and our new Light a Village model – we’re doing everything we can to create a brighter and more sustainable future for all.

Brief of the Day: Create posters to encourage Wealthy (G20) nations to make & uphold commitments to financially support poorer countries who are vulnerable to climate impacts & help them adapt

One Minute Brief of the Day:

Create posters to encourage Wealthy (G20) nations to make and uphold their commitments to financially support poorer countries who are vulnerable to climate impacts & help them to adapt, save people’s livelihoods and minimise loss of life.

1st Place: £150 cash!!

2nd Place: £50 cash!!

Context

Governments from around the world are gathered in Egypt this week and next week to negotiate a deal on climate change. One of the things they're discussing at this UN conference - called COP27 - is whether or not rich countries should give countries already feeling the worst impacts of climate change money to help them adapt, save people’s livelihoods and minimise loss of life. You can learn more about adaptation here

Historically, rich countries are responsible for the highest global emissions, resulting in the climate change impacts we are seeing today, yet poor countries are often the most affected. Yet to date, the money pledged by rich countries to poor countries is significantly lower than what those countries really need to adapt. And to make matters worse, commitments made previously at COP26 are yet to be achieved.

Adaptation is everyone’s business. The citizens of the UK and other wealthier countries also stand to gain from poorer countries adapting as supply chains become stabler. Record drought in China this year froze international supply chains for cars and electronics.

We therefore want to send a clear message to the governments of the richest G20 countries gathered in Egypt: you have a huge opportunity this week and next week to reduce human suffering on a large scale by signing a deal pledging money to poorer countries to adapt to climate change, and by actually paying the money pledged in the past.

What is Adaptation Finance

Money that is needed to enable people and countries experiencing the worst climate changes impacts (droughts, floods, heatwaves) to be able to adjust and survive these effects. They have to change their way of life and live within the new changing environment and this needs money.
Examples of these include:

  • Distribution of more climate resilient seeds, irrigation plants and technology.

  • Roads and bridges built or adapted to withstand higher temperatures and more powerful storms

Why can’t they afford to fund their own adaptation?

  • Most vulnerable countries are tied down in debt and it’s cheaper for rich countries to borrow (1-4% interest, while the poor countries borrow at 14%)

  • Rich nations developed by exploiting fossil fuels largely (industrialisation), which has contributed the most to the climate impacts, so they are largely responsible for the need to adapt in the first place

You can use these key messages if you wish in your entries:

There needs to be an Adaptation finance deal African COP (COP27). This is the year of an African COP, and African nations are on the climate frontline (experiencing some of the worst droughts, cyclones etc). COP27 is an opportunity to agree on a new deal on climate and development between wealthy nations and Africa and LDCs

Adaptation is an urgent economic necessity. Adaptation investments are essential to keep the global economy from tipping over: if rich nations fail to invest in poorer countries this will impact growth and supply chains, that will also affect cost of living and commodities in their countries. In a globalised economy no-one escapes when extreme weather hits.

Developed countries may think they’re immune to climate disasters, they’re not and neither are their economies. Abandoning climate finance doesn’t mean escaping climate impacts.

What goes on in Pakistan, does not stay in Pakistan … developing countries were promised $40bn by 2025 to invest in adaptation. If you live in London, Paris or New York, climate impacts in one part of the world still affect you.

We must see a shift in funding/finance in 2022. Investment in climate adaptation as a percentage of GDP across Africa is rising, while financing to turn these plans and strategies into action isn’t following. International adaptation finance flows to developing countries are 5-10 times below estimated needs and the gap is widening.

Investing in adaptation may seem expensive, but the costs of inaction are far greater.

Examples

  • "If you live in London, Paris or New York, climate impacts in one part of the world still affect you", (supply chain disruption leading to increased costs, etc.)

  • A bad flood in India means you pay more for rice.

  • The semiconductor that powers🔌 your computers and phones, the coffee☕️ that keeps us awake, #climatechange might just take that away from us

  • Funding a sea wall in Bangkok? That might just prevent your next Iphone📱 to be 190% more expensive💸. The 2011 Bangkok floods caused the prices of semiconductors to skyrocket🚀

  • Making developing countries more resistant to floods is key to preserving your food and beverages

About Gymshark:

We’re Gymshark. We exist to unite the conditioning* community.

It’s not our goals that unite us, but the things we do to achieve them. Because although our training grounds and end goals might be different, sweat is our sport. And we’re a team of individuals who know that to go further, we go together.
Our legacy began in 2012, from a garage in Birmingham, UK with nothing but a sewing machine, a screen-printer and ambitions we had no right to hold. Today, we create the tools that help everyone become their personal best: the clothing you’ll sweat in, the content you’ll find inspiration in and the community you’ll become your best in.
Our Gymshark family of employees, athletes and followers is now over 10 million strong, with a total social media following of over 18 million and customers in over 230 countries across our 14 online stores. Our employee family is growing too, with over 900 employees across offices in five regions, including Solihull, UK (just outside our hometown) and Denver, Colorado.

One Minute Brief of the Day: Create posters to promote @AlopeciaUK & spread the word that hair loss can be very challenging, emotionally and physically, and ‘isn’t just hair’. #AlopeciaUK

‘Just Hair’

‘Just hair’ comes from the fact that hair loss can be often overlooked/dismissed by both medical professional and general public as ‘cosmetic’ or ‘just hair’ when anyone who has experienced alopecia knows that it’s far more than that. It’s not ‘just hair loss’ – it’s how it makes us feel. It’s the impact it has on our relationships with others in work and school. It’s the fear of reactions of others. It’s the impact it has on our self-esteem/confidence. In today’s brief we want to communicate how it’s much more than just hair. It’s a sensitive topic so entries should reflect that and we look forward to seeing what the OMBLES come up with!

OMB of the Day: Create posters to promote recycling of seemingly redundant gadgets & encourage better decisions when disposing of unwanted Waste Electrical & Electronic Equipment (WEEE)

This International E-Waste Day we’re inviting our OMBLE community to help UNTHA UK tackle a vast global recycling issue.

As the population becomes hungrier for the latest gadgets, a growing number of small electrical devices are stowed away in drawers gathering dust, or – worse still – thrown away in the rubbish bin. Think mobile phones, headphones, kitchen gadgets, and more…

But how many of these waste electrical and electronic (WEEE) items could be re-used by someone else? Or processed for recycling? So many products are, quite literally, going to waste! And this environmental challenge is only getting bigger.

That’s why we’re looking for visuals (be it posters, GIFs, or scribbles on paper) designed to raise awareness of the need to recycle seemingly redundant gadgets, to better protect the planet!

One Minute Brief of the Day:

Create posters to raise awareness of recycling seemingly redundant gadgets & inspire people to make better decisions when it comes to the disposal of unwanted Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE)

Tweet your entries to @OneMinuteBriefs & @UnthaUK with the hashtags #WhereDoesWEEEGo and #eWasteDay

Remember to include your Twitter handle in the bottom right-hand corner of your submissions! Enter as many times as you like. Deadline 6pm BST.

You can also share your entries via stories and posts to UNTHA UK Limited on LinkedIn!

WINNER:

1st Place: £200 Cash!!

2nd Place: £50 Cash!!

3rd Place: £50 Cash!!

(The top 10 entries may also be shared on UNTHA channels, with artist credit given!)

What’s the issue?

Last year, 57.4 million tonnes of electronic and electrical waste was generated around the world – up from 53.6 million tonnes in 2019. And this figure is only set to keep growing.

And small, seemingly ‘end-of-life’ electrical items (many of which are still in perfect working order or could be sent for recycling) are said to represent 22 million tonnes of this startling figure. It’s reported that this number could easily reach 29 million tonnes by 2030.

That’s why, this year, the WEEE Forum – the brains behind International E-Waste Day – is running with the slogan: “Recycle it all, no matter how small”.

And WEEE shredding specialist UNTHA UK is asking you to consider what more we can do to support this movement…

Who’s setting today’s brief?

UNTHA UK is a manufacturer of industrial shredders that can process almost anything. It’s our mission to ensure valuable resources are recycled or used for energy recovery, rather than ending up as waste. We genuinely care about the environment and want more people to, as well .

As a B2B brand which usually only talks to our peers (rather than the public) we feel this is a topic that needs to be discussed more – hence we’re enlisting the help of the OMBLES to help us spread the word and once again make recycling cool. (We already know it is, of course).

Why WEEE?

Because, if these gadgets are sent to landfill, so many valuable resources that could otherwise be recovered, are lost. Take mobiles as an example – it’s reported that one million phones contain 24kg of gold, 16,000kg of copper, 350kg of silver, and 14kg of palladium. These high-value materials should not go to ‘waste’. That’s why our shredders exist – to help liberate, segregate, and recycle the resources so they can go on to have a longer, useful life.

On that note…

To recap, the brief is to create anything visual or has impactful headlines – GIFs, posters, prints, or postcards – to think about where their WEEE goes (and, of course, where it should!)

The winning design isn’t intended to sell equipment but inspire people to make better decisions when it comes to the disposal of unwanted gadgets. Get creative and enter as many times as you wish for the chance to win.

CDUK Story

The simple idea that inspired our founder, Stevie, to start CDUK.

"While working on a related project, I was walking through College Green in Bristol – a place for sharing ideas, protesting injustices, and chilling with friends. A handwritten sign was left on the bench that read “98 people are sleeping on the streets tonight. That seems like a solvable problem”. I completely agreed.

Every time, but especially around the wintertime, my heart breaks for the people shivering on the streets, always wishing I could do something more to support them.

Believing business should be about more than just making money, we will not just be another ethical brand as we will use our resources to directly contribute to solving homelessness in our community."

MIBS (Made In Bristol Shorts)

Mibs are comfortable, practical shorts designed to be flexible for both fit and occasion, made using organic materials and prints from Bristolian artists. Most importantly, we’re helping people in our city escape homelessness through employment, providing transferable skills and a living wage.

Pull on a pair of Mibs, and you’ll find the waistband and legs are designed to be turned up or down to fit your body shape. So with stunning prints by local artists printed onto Organic Cotton sewn on the inside seams, you’ll be revealing a subtle streak of rebelliousness as you roll. After all, there’s only one way to truly fit in here – by standing out!

Made from 100% sustainable plastic-free fabric, they’re comfortable, with just enough flex to adapt to your frame without stretching or tearing. So you’ll wear them in quickly – and wear them out slowly.

We’re back with yet another BIG and important brief with CALM.

18 people die by suicide every day in the UK, so that’s where CALM is asking everyone to stand together and help someone STAY.

From starting a life-saving conversation, signposting to resources thecalmzone.net/stay, or by donating £8 - there are lots of ways people could help to prevent a suicide and help someone STAY.

One Minute Brief of the Day:

WINNER: £100 cash, a CALM goodie bag & a chance to feature in the next CALM OOH campaign!!

Brief Context:

We’re here to tell anyone and everyone who can’t see a way out: “Things can change”. To say to them “Just stay”.

Why are we doing this? Because every week in the UK 125 people take their own lives; 125 individuals who couldn’t see a way out.

But at CALM, we believe there is always hope, always a reason for living. That’s why we’ve launched Stay – to show you that things can change, no matter how you feel right now. That there’s always a way forward.

18 people die by suicide every day in the UK. Stand with us and help them Stay.

Today and every day our message remains the same: we want everyone across the UK to know that someone wants them to stay.

So join us and help tell anyone and everyone who can’t see a way out: “Things can change”. To help more people to Stay. More people like Ash who spoke to our helpline in his darkest moments and was able to find hope.

Ash’s Story

During lockdown Ash couldn’t see a way out. He was furloughed, had a new baby to look after but no job. Things got too much. He wanted to end it all, but he turned to CALM and the helpline staff helped him see there was a future.

“I still remember that night like it was yesterday. The day that I thought was going to be the end. When it seemed like there was no way forward. But things did change.

“CALM’s helpline saved my life. They listened without judging me and helped me make a plan for the future.”
